As a longtime Newton resident and parent, I am honored to support Linda Swain for School Committee (Ward 2, voted citywide).

Linda is a thoughtful and pragmatic leader who will put her experience and skill set to good use to guide Newton Public Schools. She listens carefully, welcomes feedback, and makes decisions informed by data. She is committed to helping bring back the excellence in education that was the impetus for many of us to move to Newton, ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

A marketing executive who has led large teams and managed complex budgets, Linda brings the financial insight and analytical rigor the School Committee needs. With both her children attending Cabot, Day, and Newton North, she has seen firsthand what’s working and what areas we can improve on.

Linda has been a dedicated community leader—serving as President of the Cabot After School Board, on a principal search committee, and as Co-President of the Newton North Boosters. Her kids are fourth-generation Newtonians, continuing a long family connection of service to this community.

She shares the superintendent’s vision and supports using data-driven decisions and indicators that identify how to best support student outcomes. She is also a strong advocate for mental health resources and special education inclusion, promoting ideas such as field trip accessibility checklists. She brings creative ideas for addressing the school budget—exploring both cost savings and new funding opportunities.

Please join me in supporting Linda Swain for School Committee, Ward 2.
