These Newton restaurants are open Christmas Day

Christmas gatherings aren’t for everyone. For starters, not everyone celebrates it. And even among those who do, it can be a lot of work and a hassle to clean up.

Here are a few restaurants open on Christmas Day in Newton:

Legal Seafood in Chestnut Hill will be open from 12 to 8 p.m. They require reservations.

What they offer: Legal Seafood is known for its wide variety of seafood options, but they do have some chicken and beef dishes, and a few vegetarian options. There is a kids’ menu. Beer and wine are available.

Price: Most entrees are between $20 and $45.

Baramor in Newton Centre will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. They take reservations but do not require them.

What they offer: Classic American dishes like chicken tenders, burgers, and salmon, with a slightly upscale flair, like truffle fries. There are vegetarian and a few vegan options, and they also do gluten-sensitive for some dishes. There are plenty of options for beer, wine, cocktails and spirits. There is also a kids’ menu.

Price: Most entrees are between $15 and $30.

Ding’s Kitchen in Newton Centre will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. They take reservations but do not require them. They also have delivery.

What they offer: A variety of Chinese dishes, from more Westernized items like honey-glazed ribs and Peking duck to more traditional fare like sea cucumber and stir-fried frog. There isn’t a children’s menu, but there are child-friendly items like chicken fingers. There are a variety of vegetarian dishes. No alcohol.

Price: Most entrees are between $15 and $30.

The Dooliner in Nonantum will be open from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. (kitchen closes at 10).

What they offer: Irish and American fare like fish and chips and burgers. No vegetarian options beyond salad. No kids’ menu, but there are child-friendly items like chicken tenders. Beer, wine, cocktails, and spirits are available.

Price: Most entrees between $16 and $22.
