A bunch of kids threw paint on countless windows in Newton over the weekend. And the mayor, a city councilor and a cop were seen encouraging it.

Fortunately, it wasn’t vandalism. To the contrary, it was festive art.

Halloween Window Painting, a fun program organized by Newton Parks, Recreation & Culture, celebrated its 25th anniversary over the weekend, as kids decked out storefronts for the spooky season and added a lot of color to Newton’s fall.
