Subscription Series: “The American Dream and the Movies” With Professor Julie Levinson

Loading Events

Throughout the past century, Hollywood movies have been a major force in embedding the notion of the American dream in our individual aspirations, our public discourse, and our collective consciousness. They have offered varied perspectives on this very essence of our national self-image—sometimes extolling and sometimes challenging the premises and promises of the dream. This film series will showcase a range of movies that explore both the hopes and betrayals of the American dream. Screenings will take place once a month on Thursdays at 4:00PM. Each film will be preceded by a brief introduction and will be followed by audience discussion.
