Spring is about to bloom with art in Newton.

The annual citywide exhibit Newton Open Studios is coming Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6, featuring work from more than 100 artists at studios throughout the villages.

Founded in 1985 by artist Renee Rubin in collaboration with Linda Plaut and Judy Anderson from the city’s Office of Cultural Affairs, Newton Open Studios connects residents and visitors with local artists and give artists a chance to sell their work.

Think of it like a pub crawl, but with art. You can travel around Newton to various places—studios, homes, shops—where artists are showing their creations, and there will be an online map to help navigate your journey.

And artists, you have until Thursday, March 20, to sign on or sit out.

Newton Open Studios is sponsored by Newton Community Pride.
