The United States turned 248 years old Thursday, and Newton celebrated her birthday with a carnival, a kids’ festival and fireworks.
The beautiful summer weather brought thousands of people to Albemarle Field to sit, enjoy some music, eat some food and enjoy the loud, lit-up night sky over Newton.
