This past weekend, four teenage boys were arrested by Boston Police after committing several crimes, including stealing from Lake Smoke and Vape in Newton.
On May 23, a car was reported stolen in Brighton. The next morning at 4:30 a.m., Newton Police responded to a call about a breaking and entering at Lake Smoke and Vape, and they saw the stolen vehicle fleeing the premises. An hour later, Boston Police responded to an attempted armed robbery in Codman Square, but the suspects fled in the vehicle.
The vehicle drove around several police cars trying to pull it over, and officers lost sight of it.
However, thanks to cameras, police knew that the vehicle had not left the area, and they began a search. It was found shortly before 6 a.m. in a local garage, full of the stolen goods.
Newton Police took custody of the car and it was towed to the Newton Police Station. Boston Police saw the suspects walking down Tremont Street and arrested them at the corner of Huntington and Tremont. Police recovered additional stolen vape products, along with the keys to the stolen car, a spent shell casing, and a loaded gun.
One of the boys already had a warrant out for firearms-related offences from Boston Juvenile Court. They will be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court under several charges, including receiving stolen goods and, for two of them, firearms-related charges.
