The weekend before Halloween has plenty to get you into the spirit of the spooky season. And there are two alcohol-inclusive events, for those of you who want to knock a couple back while you unwind from a long week.

Scary movies, mini golf, a pumpkin party and an Oktoberfest concert await.

Temperatures will be a little cooler than last weekend, with highs in the mid-60s, so it will feel more like autumn.

Here are six things to do in Newton this weekend.

Saturday, Oct. 26

From 1 to 3 p.m., Newton Centre resident Karen Bray is hosting a comedic dance performance, “Eat No More: A Dance in Three Courses,” by Rose Wood Dance Collaborative and Karen Bray Performance Projects, at 38 Stearns St., Newton Centre.

From 3 to 4:30 p.m., Grace Episcopal Church will host the Highland Glee Club’s Oktoberfest Concert, with classic songs about drinking (with guest baritone Junhan Choi) followed by a beer garden reception.

From 6 to 9:30 p.m., the Newton Free Library will have a mini-golf course for adults ages 21 and older, with 18 holes as well as beer, wine and entertainment.

Sunday, Oct. 27

From 8 to 11:30 a.m., mini-golf at the Newton Free Library continues, with this morning event leaving out the alcohol and letting in the kids. This family-friendly morning round of mini-golf will include food, coffee, hot chocolate, Cabot’s ice cream, popcorn from West Newton Cinema and a visit from Officer Leo, the beloved dog of the Newton Police Department.

From 11 a.m. to noon, the West Newton Cinema will host a special screening of the film “ParaNorman,” a kids’ movie about a boy who battles ghosts and zombies to save his town. Kids who participate in Newton’s Halloween Window Painting Contest will get a free pass to see the movie.

From 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., United Parish of Auburndale will host Pumpkin Fest, an annual celebration of the season featuring a petting zoo with baby animals, face-painting, live music and pumpkin decorating.
