Five things to do in Newton this weekend

The hot summer haze that has engulfed Newton will be accompanied by music this weekend, with summer concerts at the Hyde and the Newton Centre Bowl.

In between, there’s a farmers market and a walking tour around Crystal Lake to add some time in nature to your plans.

Here are five things to do in Newton this weekend.

Friday, July 26

From 6 to 10 p.m., The Hyde Center will host an outdoor concert by The Ivory Rockers’ Dueling Pianos, followed by a screening of the movie “The Sandlot.” The Ivory Rockers’ Dueling Pianos is an interactive rock show featuring rock and pop classics.

Saturday, July 27

From 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the city will have its Saturday Farmers Market at Newton North High School.

Sunday, July 28

From 8:30 to 10 a.m., Historic Newton will host Life at the Lake: A Crystal Lake Walking Tour while teaching about the history of the lake. Walking tours are $10 for members and $15 for non-members.

From 6 to 7:30 p.m., Newton Cultural Development will host a free summer concert performed by the band Jam Sandwich, at the Newton Centre Bowl in the open space adjacent to the playground and just down the hill from the Tyler Terrace hut.
