After a brief “spring teaser,” the temperature has dipped from 55 to 25 like it saw a police cruiser.
But the start of March is expected to bring a rebound mild enough that the air doesn’t hurt your face, so it’s a win. And the weekend brings Newtonians music, comedy and even a cooking class with wine.
Here are five things to do in Newton this weekend:
Friday, March 1
At 11:30 p.m., Third Space Kitchen will host “Cooking with Wine Adult Night” in which participants can try new techniques for cooking various foods with wine while enjoying a glass of wine to drink. The menu includes breaded chicken with cream sauce, Italian stuffed mushrooms, salad and toasted pepitas with a champagne vinaigrette.
Saturday, March 2
From 10 to 11 a.m., The Street Chestnut Hill will present “Frozen Fun for Little Ones” with performer Vanessa Trien at Showcase Superlux, 55 Boylston St.
From noon to 4 p.m., Third Piece will host “Namaste & Knitting Mini Retreat” at 320 Nevada St.
Sunday, March 3
From 3 to 5 p.m., Temple Emanuel will host their “Chamber Music Concert Series” featuring the Arabella (String) Quartet, whose members come from several different countries and met at Yale.
At 5 p.m., ROFL will host “Mandar Bhide Stand-Up Comedy” at Brown Middle School.
