August has come to an end, and the summer is wrapping up as well. There’s still time to enjoy it, though. Check out a chime concert in West Newton. Join a book club. Take the kids crafting. Help get rid of invasive plants while you soak up some of the last days of the season.

Temperatures are expected to be in the low-70s all weekend with no rain, but this is New England so that could change.

Here are five things to do in Newton this weekend.

Friday, Aug. 29

From 6 to 9 p.m., Tango Mango will have Live Guitar with Armando.

Saturday, Aug. 30

From 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., head over to Newton North High School for the Saturday Farmers Market.

From 5 to 6 p.m., the First Unitarian Universalist Society in Newton will present a free Summer Chime Concert, and attendees can enjoy the music throughout West Newton Square, including Captain Ryan Park across the street from the church.

Sunday, Aug. 31

From 8:30 to 10 a.m., the Newton Conservators are hosting an invasives pull at the Saw Mill Brook. The group will meet at the Vine Street parking lot across from Hollywood Drive.

From 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Knot & Purl, 17 Lincoln St., will host Open Craft Hours from hobbyists, enthusiasts and newbies.
