Earlier this year, Trader Joe’s execs said they were planning a second store location in Newton, to go along with its existing one in West Newton.

The new store, which doesn’t have an opening date yet, will be on Needham Street near the Needham line, where Starbucks and Marshalls are.

“Our Crew is working hard so we can open our doors,” a company statement reads on its website. “We’ll continue to post new details about the store and its opening here, so please check back for updates. We look forward to seeing you!”

The second store opening has been in the works for a while, with company spokespeople telling MassLive in January that a second Newton store was coming but not telling anyone where that new store would be.

The Upper Falls location, along with a new store opened in West Roxbury this year, brings the total number of Massachusetts Trader Joe’s stores to about two dozen.
