Snow enthusiasts rejoice! And everyone else, take refuge in the fact that spring is only three weeks away.
Meanwhile, the nearly two feet of snow from that powerful late January storm never had a chance to melt—temperatures have hovered at or below freezing for most of the past three weeks—when another two feet of snow joined it on Monday.
The storm crept in Sunday afternoon and escalated to an all-out blizzard by Sunday night. “Be good to your neighbors and help shovel sidewalks so we can all get to school safely on Wednesday morning,” Superintendent Anna Nolin posted on the NPS Facebook page Monday.

There is a snow emergency parking ban in effect until further notice. Check the city website for updates on that. Municipal parking lots open at 6 a.m. Tuesday.
Garbage and recycling pickup is delayed by two days this week, starting Tuesday, Mayor Laredo’s office announced on Monday night. Friday pickup is delayed until next Friday.
The mayor added that the standard 24-hour sidewalk clearing deadline has been extended to noon on Wednesday, to give property owners more time to clear the snow.
“Property owners in business and commercial districts and residential
Snow-related complaints and sidewalk reports should go through the city’s 311 system or by calling 617-796 -1000.
