Snapshots: Newton July 4 Celebration

Having July 4 on a Friday with such perfect weather may have been just what Newton needed. Thousands of people showed up to Albemarle field to relax, mingle, dance, eat and enjoy fireworks to celebrate the 249th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The all-day celebration started with a child’s carriage, bike, and dog parades in Newton Center and ended with a dazzling display of fireworks after sunset. Guests were treated to performances by the Kim Chapman Band and the Beantown Buckaroos as well as food trucks as far as the eye could see. Newton knows how to throw the nation a birthday party!
