Five Things to Do in Newton This Weekend

There’s a heatwave upon is, bringing temperatures soaring into the 50s for this February weekend. And the kids have been back in school all week, so families have that to celebrate.

Here are five things to do in Newton this weekend,

Friday, Feb. 9

  • From 3 to 5 p.m., the Jewish Community Center of Greater Boston will host Beginner Bridge, a class to learn to play the famous card game, taught by bridge teacher Jori Grossack, known as “The Bridge Whisperer.”

Saturday, Feb. 10

  • At noon, The Biltmore will have its first Drag Brunch of the year, Head Over Heels. Make sure to remember to bring dollar bills.
  • From 1 to 2:30 p.m., the Scandinavian Living Center will stream the film “Fallen Leaves.”

Sunday, Feb. 11

From 12 to 4 p.m., the New Art Center will host “Year of the Dragon: Lunar New Year Celebration.” with performances and art activities for the whole family to enjoy.

At 2 p.m., First Unitarian Universalist Society of Newton will host “FUUSN Musicians Concert,” in support of the church’s Urban Ministry efforts.
