Strummin’ Up to Boston

This one-day celebration of the small but mighty instrument will take over Newton City Hall with concerts, workshops, vendors and plenty of opportunities for impromptu ukulele jams. The family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

Highlights of “Strummin’ Up to Boston” include:
– Performances by 7 semi-professional ukulele bands, including the youngest ukulele group in New England, STRING JAM.
– Uke-based comedy show
– A ukulele swap meet for buying, selling and trading instruments/accessories
– Jam sessions, open to all
“The ukulele’s popularity has exploded, but rarely do you get to experience so many talented players in one place,” said John Soares, the event’s producer. “We’re proud to host this unique musical celebration in Massachussetts.”
