Led by Attorney Brian Bixby from Wilchins, Cosentino & Novins
This event is part of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s (MBA) statewide 2025 Elder Law Education Program and coincides with the release of the updated and expanded 2025 Elder Law Education Guide, the 16th edition of this valuable resource. Copies of the guide are available online at www.massbar.org/elderlaw.
Attendees will hear from an experienced elder law attorney about key legal issues affecting older adults, including topics such as Veterans Affairs financial benefits, protecting your home and assets, powers of attorney and health care proxies, reverse mortgages, estate and tax planning, Homestead and Life Estates, recent Medicare/Medicaid changes, and alternatives to nursing home care. At the end, there will be an opportunity for questions and answers on those and related topics.
The Elder Law Education Program connects volunteer attorneys from the MBA and the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) with senior centers and councils on aging across the state, offering free, accessible legal education. Since its inception in 1987, the program has helped thousands of Massachusetts seniors better understand their rights and legal options.
