Newton Schools Foundation to host ‘Newton Inspires’ fundraiser

Newton students have gone on to do great things, and this month you can see that for yourself while helping more students thrive.

The Newton Schools Foundation will host Newton Inspires, a fundraiser featuring guest speakers on a variety of topics, on March 14 at 6 p.m. at Newton South High School.

Anike Tourse—independent filmmaker, actor, director of “America’s Family” and graduate of Newton South High School—will headline the event.

Other speakers with ties to Newton include:

  • Dr. Adrian B. Mims, founder and CEO of The Calculus Project
  • Marguerite Fletcher, diversity consultant and attorney
  • Thom Solo (NPS alumnus), women’s shoe designer for style icons, in conversation with journalist and former style editor Jill Radsken.

The event is open to the public. Tickets are available online, and proceeds will go to the Newton Schools Foundation.

In the 2022-2023 school year, Newton Schools Foundation issued a record-setting 60 grants totaling $243,000. Since the group was established in 1985, it has given more than $4 million in grants to help Newton students and schools.
