Music director Philip Sanborn leads Newton’s 20-member BAY COLONY BRASS in “Springtime Salmagundi.” The free, family-friendly concert features the world premiere of American composer Carson Cooman’s “Suncatchers: Pageant in Four Scenes for Two Horns and Brass Ensemble” with soloists Hazel Dean Davis and Nick Auer. The concert also includes James Marks’ “Music for Brass and Timpani,” Chris Hazell’s “Three Brass Cats,” and Alfred Reed’s masterful “Othello.” This program is supported in part by a grant from the Newton Cultural Council, a local council supported by the Mass Cultural Council and the City of Newton
