Brookline painter Ed Pontes gives a free artist talk alongside his solo exhibition Through the Shade of a Tree at Newton Free Library. Pontes is the developer of Delimited Drip Painting, a gravity-driven process using layered drips of paint to build surfaces that recall weaving or lace. A UMass Dartmouth BFA with a career-long Boston studio practice, he will discuss the works in the show, his process, and the ideas behind them.
