About the Artists
Cellist, and Newton resident, Jacques Lee Wood is recognized for his eclectic artistry spanning baroque performance, new commissions, improvisation, and composition. He is Principal Cellist of the Cape Symphony, performs with ensembles including A Far Cry, Boston Baroque, and Bach Collegium Japan, and serves as professor of cello at the University of New Hampshire. Wood also teaches with the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra and has held residencies worldwide. He studied with Laurence Lesser at New England Conservatory (BM) and Aldo Parisot at Yale University (MM, DMA), and has recordings on Hyperion and Navona labels.
Award-winning Georgian-American pianist Ana Glig has been praised for her “virtuosic command” (Prufrocks Dilemma) and “ability to capture hearts” (Musical America). She has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Series in Chicago, and with orchestras in the U.S., Israel, and Georgia, including the Cape Symphony. Her album Reminiscences received critical acclaim from Fanfare Magazine. Glig is founder of MusArt Interconnections and serves on the faculty of Cape Symphony.
