Hummingbird is A Schneider Family Book Award Honor Book\, given to this middle grade novel for excellence in portraying the disability experience.\nAuthor Natalie Lloyd shared\, “My disability informs how I move through my daily life and the world\, and how I exist in my body. It’s only one part of the big constellation of my life\, but it’s still a part.
