I was disappointed to see candidate John Chaimanis labelling other people’s views as “extremism” in his newsletter. (Chaimanis campaign newsletters 10/14 and 10/17).

I tried to figure out who is he talking about–his opponents, other City Council members, supporters of those candidates or councilors? It really bothered and upset me as one of those supporters.

He says he heard this word when canvassing but that doesn’t mean he has to repeat that kind of divisiveness in a heading in his newsletter.

I have been canvassing this fall and have not heard this kind of negativity. I’ve heard people’s concerns about our schools, our roads, and how expensive houses are. I’ve heard concerns about the city council being able to work together to get things done in our city.

Luckily there are two other candidates in the Ward 4 at-large race who will work to move our city forward and work to bring people together.

Those who have met Cyrus Dahmubed know that he is friendly, smart, and engaging. It’s clear he has a lot of expertise that will be an asset on the Council with his background in architectural and urban design.

Josh Krintzman has often been the councilor who works to find compromise when there are differences on the Council. He is known for bringing humor into discussions, easing tensions in the room.

I think that Cyrus Dahmubed and Josh Krintzman would make a great team from Ward 4. I strongly urge you to vote for both.
