DESCRIPTION:To celebrate Disability Pride Month and the 34th anniversary of the ADA\, on Wed. July 17th at 7:00pm Understanding Our Differences\, the Newton Commission on Disability\, and the Newton Free Library are pleased to host a moderated panel of local speakers with disabilities who will explore the question\, “What does disability pride mean to you?”\, followed by Q&A and discussion with the audience. Also featured will be a video montage of clips addressing the question\, submitted by people with disabilities. Doors to Druker Auditorium at the library open at 6:30pm for information sharing and informal conversation. All are welcome.

Like many human abilities\, this sensory processing can be variable\, and impact the ease and success of many of our daily activities. Presenters Nikki Saccomandi and Kasey Joy\, occupational therapists and assistant clinical directors at OTA the Koomar Center\, will teach you basic principles and strategies of sensory processing\, which will help parents\, teachers and caregivers provide understanding and support to people with sensory processing challenges.
