SUMMARY:NewTV Annual Membership Meeting
DESCRIPTION:NewTV’s Annual Membership Meeting will be held as a hybrid style meeting on Wednesday\, March 18 at 6:00pm. Members can choose to attend in person at the NewTV studio or via Zoom. Doors will open for our in-person attendees at 5:30PM; light refreshments\, networking\, and tours will be available immediately following the meeting. The meeting will include the approval of 2025 Annual Meeting Minutes\, departmental and financial reports\, and the election of two (2) candidate to the NewTV Board of Directors. \nMembers must be in good standing as of Wednesday\, February 25 at 6:00PM\, in order to be eligible to vote in the election. Due to the hybrid format of this meeting\, voting will be completed both with paper ballots for those attending in person\, as well as with an online form for those attending via Zoom. The online voting form will also be available to those unable to attend the meeting but who still wish to vote. Online voting will be available from Wednesday\, March 11 at 10:00AM through Tuesday\, March 17 at 6:00PM. Paper ballots will be distributed to in-person attendees upon their arrival. Voting will include the election of two board members and the approval of 2025 Annual Meeting minutes. \nOfficial invitations have been sent through both postal mail and email to active NewTV members in good standing. Zoom and online voting information will be sent upon RSVP to those who choose to attend virtually. Members unable to attend the meeting can also request the online voting ballot. \nLegal Notice:\nNewton Communications Access Center\, Inc.\, dba NewTV\, Annual Membership Meeting for the purpose of electing two board members\, reporting on the organization’s progress\, and hearing public comment at 6:00pm on Wednesday\, March 18\, both in-person at NewTV’s studio and via Zoom meeting.

DESCRIPTION:Like most community media centers\, NewTV is funded primarily by a surcharge on the cable bill of local cable subscribers. With more and more people “cutting the cord” in favor of streaming services and apps\, NewTV is rapidly losing a major source of funding needed to serve the Newton community. Supporting the Future Forward Gala helps to finance NewTV’s annual fundraising campaign\, ensuring that NewTV remains the best community media center in the nation. \nThe gala features an immersive journey through NewTV’s history: Learn what NewTV has accomplished and discover some of the most meaningful content they have created over the past three decades. NewTV will also define their vision for the future – how they will continue to protect your First Amendment right to free speech\, and how they will continue to provide you with transparent local government coverage and journalistic integrity. \nThe evening also includes cocktail hour and hors d’oeuvres\, a sit-down dinner\, a live performance by Boston music legend Livingston Taylor\, and a tribute to outgoing Newton Mayor Ruthanne Fuller.

DESCRIPTION:Captured Moments: Four Women Photographers\, Four Unique Visions explores the diverse perspectives and photography styles of four local artists: Ellen Foust\, Nicole Mordecai\, Elisif Brandon\, and Amy Oppenheimer. The exhibition showcases more than 30 digital photographs of architectural spaces\, landscapes\, and wildlife. \nCaptured Moments is on display at NewTV on 23 Needham Street in Newton Highlands.
