SUMMARY:Music Mondays presents "Jazz Tapestry" (stepping up for cancelled Aryaloka String Quartet concert)
DESCRIPTION:PLEASE NOTE: Aryaloka String Quartet has cancelled due to illness. \nWe are thrilled to announce that Jazz Tapestry will be able to step in for this same date – featuring Billy Novick\, clarinet/vocal\, Tomoko Iwamoto\, violin and Greg Toro\, double bass. Both traditional and eclectic\, this violin\, clarinet and bass jazz trio takes their unique sound and weaves you through the Great American Songbook. Billy Novick is an internationally recognized jazz musician who has appeared in hundreds of well-known recordings and films\, Tomoko Iwamoto a classically trained “jazzy violinist” and the centerpiece of numerous Boston area ensembles\, and Boston native Berklee-trained bassist Greg Toro\, the anchor of this terrific trio. \nPlease join us (April 13\, 2-3pm) in person at the Scandinavian Center\, 206 Waltham Street\, Newton\, or on Zoom:\nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/81963239351…\nMeeting ID: 819 6323 9351\nPasscode: mm2026 \nAs usual\, admission is free\, but donations are appreciated\, all of which will go directly to the musicians. \nWe are grateful to the Newton Cultural Council\, a local council of the Massachusetts Cultural Council\, as well as Village Bank of Newton\, for their continued support\, without which we would not be able to present this concert.
