SUMMARY:Matsiko Choir Performance
DESCRIPTION:Come experience an inspiring performance by a group of talented young people from Liberia and Peru. Free and open to all ages. \nWhat is the Matsiko World Orphan Choir?\nSince 2008\, the Matsiko World Orphan Choir has brought together our world’s orphaned and vulnerable children to share their story of turning the pain of loss\, hunger\, and hopelessness into personal empowerment through music\, dance\, storytelling\, and the importance of a complete education to break the cycle of poverty. We believe every child has dignity and worth no matter their background. \nAll children are sponsored by caring individuals\, or sponsors\, who give $40 per month to pay for each child’s school tuition and fees from kindergarten through their nation’s highest university or vocational levels so they can become doctors\, lawyers\, teachers\, engineers\, or many other professions. \nMore info about the choir at www.matsiko.org.

Members Betsy Hinkle (violin)\, Grant Houston (violin)\, Jason Amos (viola)\, Nicholas Johnson (cello)\, and Joy Cline Phinney (piano) are graduates of institutions including Juilliard\, New England Conservatory\, and the University of Michigan. Collectively\, they’ve performed with ensembles such as the Boston Ballet\, Boston Modern Orchestra Project\, the Sphinx Symphony\, and Castle of Our Skins. \nBPQ continues to collaborate across disciplines—partnering with visual artists\, dancers\, and composers—and remains committed to presenting meaningful\, inclusive performances that resonate with diverse communities.\nWant to stay in touch?
