DESCRIPTION:The First Unitarian Universalist Society in Newton is presenting a free Summer Chime Concert on Saturday July 12 at 5pm. All are welcome to bring lawn chairs\, blankets\, and refreshments to the church grounds. \nKids and grown-ups will be able to enjoy the music throughout West Newton Square\, including Captain Ryan Park across the street from the church. The concert will take place rain or shine – indoor seating will be provided in case of rain. \nFree chime concerts will also be presented on August 2 and August 30.

DESCRIPTION:Come experience an inspiring performance by a group of talented young people from Liberia and Peru. Free and open to all ages. \nWhat is the Matsiko World Orphan Choir?\nSince 2008\, the Matsiko World Orphan Choir has brought together our world’s orphaned and vulnerable children to share their story of turning the pain of loss\, hunger\, and hopelessness into personal empowerment through music\, dance\, storytelling\, and the importance of a complete education to break the cycle of poverty. We believe every child has dignity and worth no matter their background. \nAll children are sponsored by caring individuals\, or sponsors\, who give $40 per month to pay for each child’s school tuition and fees from kindergarten through their nation’s highest university or vocational levels so they can become doctors\, lawyers\, teachers\, engineers\, or many other professions. \nMore info about the choir at www.matsiko.org.
