SUMMARY:Fall Art as Therapy Groups at New Art Center
DESCRIPTION:New Art currently offers four small\, supportive cohorts for grades 4-12 in expressive art as therapy and creative connection for children and teens navigating challenges such as anxiety\, depression\, and friendships/social connections. Led by registered art therapist Erin Palazzolo-Loparo\, MS-ATR alongside an art assistant\, sessions provide a safe\, confidential space for young people to connect\, create and share through a range of art modalities. DESCRIPTION:The Eliot Church of Newton invites the community to an illuminating presentation on the history of African missions in the United Church of Christ by linguist and historian Dr. Emmanuel Sithole on Sunday\, August 16\, 2026\, at 11:45 a.m. \nDr. Sithole\, originally from Zimbabwe\, will discuss the research he is doing in the archives of Harvard University and in the Boston Congregational Library and Archives. \nThe conversation will foster a deeper understanding of UCC history and will provide support for a young scholar who is doing vital\, timely work. \nAfter the presentation\, an offering will be collected to support Dr. Sithole’s research.
