SUMMARY:Charles River Earth Day Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:We hope you will join us for this year’s Annual Earth Day Charles River Cleanup!\nOur cleanup brings together over 3\,000 volunteers each year to pick up litter\, remove invasive species and assist with park maintenance along all 80 miles of the Charles River. \nBy volunteering with CRWA\, you’ll be able to participate in the cleanup of the parks\, forests\, and paths of our watershed! We host sites in towns throughout the watershed\, so whether you live in Hopkinton\, Boston\, or anywhere in between\, we have a site for you\, your friends\, or your community group. In an effort to be more environmentally friendly\, we encourage volunteers to bring their own pair of gloves. Trash bags\, picker-uppers\, and other cleanup materials will be supplied to those who wish to participate.

SUMMARY:Artist Talk: Hands to Earth with Patty Rosenblatt
DESCRIPTION:Join artist Patty Rosenblatt and her co-presenter and video collaborator Kathryn Brodie for a special artist talk that explores the evolution of Hands to Earth and the environmental concerns that shape it. \nRosenblatt noted that green space is disappearing so rapidly that it might soon be possible for people to live their lives without ever touching the earth under their feet. Hands to Earth is her proposal to encourage others to engage with the Earth. \nThis program provides an opportunity to look back at Rosenblatt’s project through conversation\, artwork and film. Her series\, “First Violin\, An Octave of Prints\,” which will be on display\, offers a powerful visual example of her process and material exploration. \nJoin for an engaging afternoon of art\, reflection\, and dialogue about touch\, transformation and our shared responsibility to the natural world. \nReserve your free spot! \nwww.newartcenter.org
