DESCRIPTION:Throughout the past century\, Hollywood movies have been a major force in embedding the notion of the American dream in our individual aspirations\, our public discourse\, and our collective consciousness. They have offered varied perspectives on this very essence of our national self-image—sometimes extolling and sometimes challenging the premises and promises of the dream. This film series will showcase a range of movies that explore both the hopes and betrayals of the American dream. Screenings will take place once a month on Thursdays at 4:00PM. SUMMARY:Annual FUUSN Musicians Concert
DESCRIPTION:Come and hear the wonderful musicians of the First Unitarian Universalist Society in concert on Sunday\, March 8\, 2026 at 2pm in the FUUSN Sanctuary. This concert is a fundraiser for the UU Urban Ministry. You’ll hear classical chamber music by pianists Paul Antonucci and Lois Shapiro\, along with guitarists Bob MacWilliams and Chris Welles. Of course the intrepid FUUSN Band will be there\, rocking the house. Enjoy the fantastic array of musical styles and moods: a cappella singing\, classical works\, bluegrass tunes\, jazz and more. And we’ll continue our tradition of Cookies at Intermission!\nThe concert is free and open to the public. Donations will be gratefully accepted for the UU Urban Ministry.

DESCRIPTION:As part of the Cherry Street Music concert series\, 25-year-old piano sensation Yuki Yoshimi takes the stage at The Allen Center for an unforgettable evening of Mozart\, Bartók\, and Schumann. Yoshimi captured international attention when he became the youngest-ever winner of the 86th Music Competition of Japan at just 17. Since then\, he has earned top prizes in major competitions including a Silver Medal at the Manhattan International Music Competition and semifinalist appearances at the Queen Elisabeth\, Naumburg\, and Gina Bachauer International Piano Competitions. He has performed with leading orchestras across Japan and Europe including the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie. A student of acclaimed New England Conservatory professor Alexander Korsantia\, Yoshimi brings both dazzling virtuosity and profound musical insight to every performance.
